Il suo successo più visibile è stata la realizzazione della catena di pizzerie DOMINO'S PIZZA che, da un singolo negozio è arrivata a divenire la più grande compagnia del mondo nella spedizione della pizza a casa.
Ma Tom Monaghan è anche uno tra gli uomini più ricchi del mondo che è passato dalla proprietà di squadre di Hokey e Baseball, alle macchine da corsa "Indy Race Cars", dai jets privati agli yachts e agli hotels di lusso.
La sua ascesa nel mondo economico è stata per Tom una sfida continua sulla sostanza più che sulla forma. Tom ha sempre usato il denaro come mezzo, mai come fine.
Oggi, dopo essere stato il primo della classe in un mondo dove esistono solo "primi della classe", ha deciso di fondare il primo movimento Cattolico di Presidenti e Grandi Uomini d'affari Cattolici, a livello internazionale: LEGATUS.
Un movimento riconosciuto dalla Santa Sede. E mentre LEGATUS continua a crescere e fare nuovi proseliti, Tom ha deciso di fondare la Prima Università Cattolica (dove si dice la Messa la mattina) in Florida: Università AVE MARIA.
Tom Monaghan è nonno orgoglioso delle sua nipotina Maria, Americana/Irlandese che studia e parla correttamente l'Italiano.

Tom Monaghan is an entrepreneur however, he is also an idealist. While he thoroughly "enjoys the things money can buy, such as private jets, a helicopter, a yacht, a big league baseball and hockey teams, and a northwood resort, he remains a man of substance". He commits to projects for the sheer enjoyment of seeing them completed, not for the sake of recognition. His moral values are revealed in his latest accomplishments.
Tom Monaghan is the Founder of LEGATUS, the first international movement of Catholic leaders, recognized by the Holy See and the Holy Father. Tom has also founded Ave Maria University the first "All Catholic University" to be established in the US in the last 50 years in Florida, where mass is celebrated every morning.
Tom Monaghan is the proud grandfather of his grandnieces who are Irish/American and who also speak perfect Italian too. Thank you Tom, you will always be a role model for those who act more than they speak.
